Share prices going up long term do you think? Seems to me HSBC is one of the most stable global banks, but I know hong kong people should be in the know. What's the whisper on the street for HSBC shares?

Although HSBC is of course huge in Hong Kong it is now officially a British bank, and I doubt anybody in Hong Kong will have privileged information to share with you!

Here they are seen as a reliable, conservative and rather old fashioned bank. Not exactly cutting edge.

In the old days there were effectively a central bank for Hong Kong, but that is no longer the case and hasn't been since the 90's. Now that we have the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to take that role HSBC has become just another, admittedly very big, bank.

Surely the days of reliable shares that can only go up has long since past? I don't see buying HSBC share as being a way to secure your retirement!
