What's the HSBC Online-banking system like if you have an account in Hong Kong? I've used their system in Australia but when I asked they said it was completely different in Hongkong so I'm not sure if that is better or worse.
I've asked for a demo but of course they can't do that they say until I've opened an account, but I don't want to go through all that hassle of opening an account if the system is no good. I prefer to do all my banking online and never visit a branch so a good system is important.
How do they do security particularly? The ones in Oz use those little security tokens with the random numbers, that's fine by me. But I know some banks use text messages to your phone and I hate that as I can never find the fone when I want it!
So if anybody has used the HSBC Hong Kong banking system online I'd love to hear how you find it, is it convenient or sluggish, is it fussy or helpful? |

I haven't used it myself, but have used Hang Seng Bank and Standard Chartered. Both of which offer online banking. Only Hangseng has the little security token.
DBS Bank meanwhile does the phone verification by SMS. Which seems foolish to me, it means anybody who steals your phone gets access to your money as well, at least in theory.
HSBC Online banking I've not seen myself, never logged into that. So I'll be interested to see if any of our other readers can offer a comment.. |
