Tam Kung Temple and his Birthday

If you walk pass the Tam Kung Temple in Shau Kei Wan on the 8th day of the fourth month of lunar calendar, you may see lion dances and even procession to celebrate Tam Kung's birthday.

Tam Kung is a patron deity of fishermen and sailors because he was said too be able to manipulate weather.  It is believed that he could calm or cause storms so all seafarers worship him.
