Weather in hong kong in december

Will it be cold in December? My family will be arriving just before Christmas, so it will be our first Christmas away from home. My husband's company is arranging a flat and things like that but they can't do our personal things I know even though they have been ever so helpful. And my husband is so busy with finishing up projects here and really having to start new ones in Hong kong I don't want to put any more stress on him so really it's just me arranging most of the things. I'm totally not worrying about school for the kids, as far as I'm concerned they can have a year off of school until we find them places if we actually end up staying in Hong Kong. Travel broadens the mind as they say and I think that's just as true, if not more so, for children than for anybody who is an adult.

But weather is hard to understand, I've looked at charts and everything and it doesn't seem that cold. But if you look at pictures taken in December in Hong kong, I used google to search for images of Hong Kong christmases past, everybody is wrapped up warmly. So I'm really not sure how to pack. Are there any suggestions? Thanks.

But briefly it is a nice time of year, and you won't find it cold if you are coming from the UK or north America. A lot of British visitors are quite happy in short sleeve t-shirts on sunny days in December, while local hong kongers might be wearing their woolies. It comes down to what you are used to.

You'll need woolens in January and Feb here but in December you'll probably fine. I'm presuming though you don't say so that you are from the UK.

If you are from the north coast of Australia though then all this is wrong. it will be terribly terribly cold!

See how it varies? That's the problem with temperatures!
