Most people like the Autumn / Fall season as that is still sunny but not as hot. Of course if you want to see a particular festival then you are limited by when that runs.

Chinese New Year is interesting and often, but not always, good weather in terms of not raining. It can be cold though which will not bother the northen european visitors but not so good if you are from a warm place.
