Welcome to our Hong Kong FastFacts page!

Many many years ago, when the world wide web was new (and people actually called it that instead of "the web"), we went on holiday to Bali, well when we came back we put together a quick page with some useful facts we had picked up there about the island, hoping to help other travels.

Years have passed but the site still exists (though it has moved server a couple of times), but is now probably more a historical monument than a useful site!

Well it occurred to me that actually I know more about Hong Kong than I do about Bali, after all -- I live in Hong Kong -- so why not make a simple site with a few pieces of advice about HK.

The same sort of things that I tell my visiting colleagues from the U.S. when they say "Hey, I have half a day in Hongkong, what should I see".  Well after I tell them it is "Hong Kong", meaning Fragrant Harbour, and not "Hongkong", then I will give them some advice.

Actually what I normally first say is "what do you want to see?"  Some people want to see tourist spots, others history buildings, still others want to do shopping, yet others just want to soak up some the Hong Kong "real life".

For each of those answers I have some suggestions -- so here on this site I will try to capture those, to answer those people who need FastFacts about Hong Kong!
