Breastfeeding in Hong Kong

Hong Kong hospitals have started to promote breastfeeding though some of them just got the idea (putting up breastfeeding posters or encourage verbally) but their hospital policies are not encouraging at all.  Do watch out.

As for breastfeeding in public, it's still a no-no or taboo.  About 10 years ago, the famous Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong has got themselves into trouble by interfering a lady from breastfeeding her baby in the coffee shop.   On the other hand, 'Mother Care' - a baby clothes and accessories shop in Hong Kong do provide nursing and nappy changing room.  Some major shopping malls like IFC has nursing and nappy changing facilities in ladies' room, and so is ikeas.

Got problems about breastfeeding?
