| I have to ship something to Hong Kong and FedEx wants the Zipcode but the person I'm shipping it to in Hong Kong says they don't have one. What can I put down as a zipcode? |

Actually there really are no postcodes or zip codes in Hong Kong. I know it is common in most countries, and even small places like Singapore use postcodes. But here in Hong Kong the postman is quite happy simply with an address, and they can do wonders delivering mail with even incomplete and badly written addresses (not that I recommend doing that of course!).
As for overseas organisations like FedEx or even various web forms that demand a post code, well if they are mandatory I'm afraid we have to cheat and put whatever we can into those fields that their systems will accept, without confusing the postman if it ends up on the address label.
For those fields which are are a "zip code" and expect 5 numeric digits you can just try entering 00000. While other cases are more flexible and allow anything to be entered it is good to simply enter "Hong Kong" again as surely that won't confuse anybody.
I do advise against writing "no zip code" or "none" or anything like that which might confuse someone. Is there a "none building" in Hong Kong? Who knows, there might be and it might receive your mail! |

| I'm from South Africa, I have visited Hong Kong a few times. Yes there is a place in HK called the Peak, It is just above Midlevels and Central. Beautiful view of Hong Kong!! I always send my boyfriend gifts and offerings in HK and I've never needed a code. Hope it helps. |

Sharon,
Yep The Peak is a real place - officially "Victoria Peak" but everybody just calls it "The Peak", even things like there is a school there which is called "The Peak School".
And as Phillip says you don't need an zip code, just write down "The Peak" and of course the rest of the address, and it will get there just fine. |

just put 000000 or 999999 and it will go through |
