Weather in Hong Kong: October

This is part of autumn in Hong Kong therefore starting to get a lot dryer and cooler but still very pleasant weather. Average temperature in October is about 25C (77F) with maximum temperature at 28C (82F).

Generally a more good time for outdoor activates but there are occasionally still very wet days from a passing typhoon -- though it is too late in the season for a direct hit from a storm most of the time. The Hong Kong Wetland park will be a good place to visit as it's less hot to walk around outdoor and it's the season for migrating birds to be active.

It can still be bright enough to get sunburn if you are outdoors all day, and a few people may want to spend these days on the beach as they are officially open -- e.g. there are lifeguards and shark nets -- but for most HK people as this is officially autumn they will choose to go hiking instead and leaving the beaches very quiet. Chung Yeung Festival is also in this month.

If it does rain it tends to rain at night which is good for the plants that otherwise are very dry in this season.  An occasional drenched wet day still happens though particularly at the earlier part of the month.
