| Is there any place to leave luggage in the airport in HK? We have a 36 hour layover on our trip from NZ back to the states and we are planning on spending the whole time awake and doing things! it's a onece in a lifetime chance for us to enjoy hk and so we don't have time, or budget, to stay in a hotel. I'm sure we can do this but it won't work if we have to carry all our large luggage with us so we would like to leave it in the airport. there will be two large suitcases, one rucksack, a guitar case, a bed roll, and several smaller bags. how much will it cost to store all that? please remember we have no budget. thanks very much for your help and you can write to me at [email protected] |

That sounds like quite a challenging adventure! Even though Hong Kong is certainly one of those cities that never sleeps, I do suspect you may need to sleep yourself at some point.
Maybe some dozing on a beach during your stay might be an idea? Though do take care of course to keep your things close by.
As for the luggage, yes you can store that at the airport.
Go to the new Terminal 2, and there you'll find it and the prices are quite high though at around HK$10 an hour. So for several pieces for many hours well, maybe you could consider booking into the Airport hotel just for storage. The day rate for luggage is only $120 though so for 6 items we are talking about $120 * 6 * 2 days = $1,440.
Sorry if that seems like not a very good solution but honestly Hong Kong can be quite an expensive destination or the visitor. |
