How much does it cost to ride on the Hongkong Airport Express railway train? What is the fare?

Is it reliable?

Are there porters to handle the luggage?

If I miss a train how long to wait until another train would come.

If I take this train how long will it take to reach the hotel in Nathan Road?

Thanks.

Welcome to Hong Kong and I hope you find the Airport Express to be a great way to ride into town. It certainly is the most convenient! Let me try to answer your questions one at a time:

The Fare: There are a number of different choices, for a typical visitor to the region I'd recommend the "Airport Express Travel Pass - 2 Airport Express Ride". At HK$300 it gives you a two way pass to the airport, plus 3 days of unlimited travel on other MTR lines.

A single ticket, one way only and going only as far as the Kowloon station (which is what you want for Nathan Road) would be HK$90.

Reliability: Oh yes very very reliable, you won't be left waiting nor does it ever stop unexpectedly. Although no train system is perfect I'd say the Airport Express is as close as it gets!

Porters: A few are available, and they will help you to lift your luggage from the platform onto the train. But they don't push it around the station for you, or help with other parts of your trip. Just for getting suitcases onto the train, and they don't help much with getting it off at the other end to be honest.

Frequence: Trains run ever 12 minutes, so you won't have long to wait even if you just miss one. You don't need to buy a ticket before you get on at the airport, you can get one when you alight at the other end of your trip. Therefore just get on a train if there is one there, or if not then relax and get on when one arrives.

How long to Nathan Road. Well that depends exactly where on Nathan Road, the train trip itself is just 20 minutes from Airport to the Kowloon station, there is a reason they call it the Express! But from there to your hotel is probably a taxi ride, and that depends on how far and what time of the day if there is traffic jams.

There are free shuttle busses run by the MTR to take Airport Express passengers to nearby hotels, but you'll have a wait a little for these so a Taxi is probably better, it'll be close by and so won't cost that much.

I hope that helps!
