Mai Po Marsh

Mai Po Marsh is situated at the northwest of HK.  Thousands of migratory birds all come to Mai Po in autumn and winter which makes it the paradise for birdwatchers.

It is managed by the WWF HK since 1984.  Public guided tours to the reserve is available all year round.  For details, please refer to WWF's web site about Mai Po http://online.wwf.org.hk/booking/en/info.html#1.

 

How to go to Mai Po

There are two railway stations nearby which provides public transport to Mai Po.

  1. from Sheung Shui Railway station
    - take the no. 17 red top mini bus in San Fat Street (next to Sheung Shui Landmark).  Alight at Mai Po Village and walk for 20 minutes.
    - take the no. 76K bus opposite the railway station.  Alight at Mai Po Village and walk for 20 minutes.
    - taxi: ask for Mai Po Visitor Centre.  It takes about 20 minutes and around $70
     
  2. from Yuen Long West Railway Station
    - take the no. 17 red top mini bus at Shui Che Kwun Street.  Alight at Tam Kon Chau Road and walk for 20 minutes
    - take the no. 76K bus from Long Yat Road near Sun Yuen Long Centre.  Alight at Mai Po Village and walk for 20 minutes
    - taxi: ask for Mai Po Visitor Centre.  It takes about 20 minutes and around $60
