Home > Sightseeing > Districts > Kowloon > Wong Tai Sin Temple Wong Tai Sin TempleCommonly know as Wong Tai Sin Temple it gives its name to the district. Originally a private worshiping altar for the Taoist god Wong Tai Sin it was opened to the public in 1956 and has been a major place of Taoist worship in Hong Kong ever since. Now it has been expanded to have ample facilities for visitors so it is perfectly ok to visit at any time. Open daily from 7 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon you will find it a clean and well kept example of a traditional Taoist temple. However surrounding by tall high rise apartment blocks it isn't a very attractive location and with nothing else of interest in the area you may find a visit to a smaller temple in a more interesting area to be move practical. Getting there: 1. Take the MTR Kwun Tong line to the station to the Wong Tai Sin station.
