Can you tell me what type of markets there are in Hong Kong, like street markets or flea markets? I want do so cheap shopping while I am visiting and not just be stuck with the big malls and the tourist traps.

Everybody loves a bargin and the Hong Kong shopper no less than anybody else, so there are plenty of street markets in Hong Kong, and a few of them have been "discovered" by the tourists and so are a littel more tourist trap now.

The most famous and most touristy is of course Stanley market: http://www.hk-stanley-market.com/

It is a "must see" but also a "can miss" -- either way is fine!

For more authentic take on cloth shopping try Ladies Market: http://www.ladies-market.hk/

And there are some small markets which are certainly something different like Apliu Street Electronics Flea Market, http://www.apliu-street.hk/, and Goldfish Market, http://goldfish-market.hk/ .

For a real Hong Kong authentic experience, without that much shopping as such, I'd say go to Temple Street http://www.temple-street-night-market.hk/

But for actual bargins probably the Ladies Market is best.
