A full day excursion to former Portuguese Macau which used to be the oldest European settlement in the Orient. The enclave was reunited with China as a Special Administrative Region in December 1999.

A 60 minute Jetfoil or Catamaran journey brings you to the Monte Carlo of the Far East. Visit the Old Fort, Penha Hill, the Bishop's Home along the Praia Grande, The Ruins of the Historic Church of St Paul and the Macau Grand Prix Race Course.

Stop at the Boarder Gate for a glimpse of the Chinese Boarder Guards before proceeding to the Casino. Leave Macau in the mid-afternoon and arrive back in Hong Kong and your pick-up point at approximately 5:00pm.

Visit Macau to see a different window onto European-meets-China society and culture. The ex-Portuguese colony of Macau is just an hour away by ferry and makes a great day trip or weekend from HK.

Then join this tour… Enjoy a brief city tour of Macau to get aquainted then cross the border to Zhongshan which is the birthplace of the founder of the modern Chinese Republic. Witness the beautiful Lingnan River by boat, a network of water-ways with a vast covering of vegetation.
 
Pick up from your hotel in the morning to the Ferry Terminal. Depart for Zhongshan City that carries a history of more than 800 years and is situated at the south of Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province.

The sightseeing starts with a visit to a famous local tea garden to see the plantation of traditional chinese tea, join a tea ceremony and savour different flavours of teas. Here, also is an opportunity to get some hands-on experience of roasting tea with the guidance of the tea-master.

Afterwards, walk through the beautiful Pedestrian Shopping Street that is a replica of architecture dating back to the 1920s.

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, explore the beautiful Lingnan River Village by boat and see the daily life of local fisherman and farmers in the Pearl River Delta. The village covers an area of about 35 sq. km and is surrounded by a complicated network of water ways which makes the area one of the most productive for fruits and freshwater produce in the country. The area has preserved the natural ecological environment and the dwellers there live a simple life unspoiled by the complications of the modern world.

Late afternoon depart for Hong Kong by catamaran and transfer back to hotel.

But one of the highlights is by far the Qin Dynasty Terracotta Warriors and Horses, acclaimed as the "8th Wonder of the World". Guangzhou was formerly know as Canton and has over 2000 years of history ranging from bronze ware to porcelain and pottery from the Tang Dynasty.
 
After your hotel pick up you will be taken to the pier for a 50 minute catamaran ride/coach ride to Shekou - The First Special Economic Zone in China. Shekou Industrial Zone is located on the east coast of the Pearl River esturay, west of the Shenzhen city and 20 nautical miles from Hong Kong by sea.

Then visit a Kindergarten (except Saturday, Sunday and school holidays). A stop at the Safari park to see the adorable Chinese panda. If time permits, visit a free market to see and experience the local life. To visit the Exhibition Hall in Shekou is a must, here you can see a display of Qin Dynasty Terracotta Warriors and Horses. These findings have been acclaimed as the "8th Wonder of the World". The display also consists of bronze wares - more than 2000 years old with porcelain and pottery from the Tang Dynasty - unearthed in Xian as well as Wall paintings.

Then proceed to Guangzhou through the express highway. Guangzhou was formerly known as Canton. It is the capital of Guangdong Province and the southern gateway to China. With a population of 5 million today and a history of over 2000 years, it is one of the largest cities in Southern China. It was the first Chinese city of international trade and still remains as the centre of the political, economic and cultural activities in South China.

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, a city tour of Guangzhou is arranged. Visits include The Six Banyon Tree Temple, Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, an octagonal building designed in a palatial style. Evening depart for Hong Kong by express train to Kowloon Station and transfer back to your hotel.
