ShatinShatinAlso sometimes called Sha Tin (with a space) this used to be a sleepy village but is now a big built up residential area. It isn't of much interest to the visitor except for a few things. 1. The Shatin Race track, if you like horse racing and want to see the alternative to the Happy Valley track. 2.The Hong Kong Heritage Museum, which is a very nice museum which would be well worth visiting if it were not so far out of the way 3. A rather nice, by HK standards, train trip. 4. The Ten Thousand Buddha Monastery - which isn't a monastery, doesn't have 10 thousand buddhas, but is still an interesting if quirky place to see So if you like any two of the above then Shatin should certainly be on your list of sightseeing places to see in Hong Kong but otherwise I'd give it a miss. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
