Ramada Hotel Hong Kong island

Located in Western District, in fact it is Sek Tong Tsoi, this is actually quite out of the way.  However it is quite a nice area in terms of restaurants and small shops and walking distance to some interesting things like the dried seafood shops or local markets.

The local public library is a great spot to get free WiFi access to the internet as well!  You can go into the "Student Study Room" for a quiet seat with free wireless internet connection.  Closed Monday mornings though.

The hotel itself is a purpose built multi-story hotel with nice rooms but otherwise basic facilities.  There is no restaurant on the ground floor which is uncommon in HK.  Prices are low - as little as HK$450 per night.  They actually advertise weekly and even monthly rates as well.

Official web site: http://www.ramadahongkong.com/hk/eng/homepage.html

There are three places to eat within the hotel itself:

  • The Cafe (3/F)
  • MTV Lounge (5/F)
  • Chinese Restaurant (G/F)

With plenty of choices outside though I'd think you'd probably only do breakfast there.  Or if you breakfast is not included in the price there is a McDonalds close by, or you can try some Dim Sum from one of the many local Chinese restaurants.
