Dragon Boat Races 2013

There are many Dragon Boat Races in Hong Kong to commemorate the Dragon Boat or Tuen Ng Festival. The majority are local events organized by seaside and fishing communities and are held on the day of the festival itself, which in 2013 falls on the 12th June, a Wednesday which will be a public holiday.

As well as the local community events there are also larger races inviting international racers. These are known as the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Race 2013 and occur the next week.  The international race is co-organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association.

Location:

Races will be held in Victoria Harbour parallel with the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, so good views of the race are possible for the whole stretch of the promenade. But obvious it will be crowded on race days so arriving early is essential to get a good position.
