Subject: HOTEL REVIEW - TATAMI HAMPTON

  • About a thousand words of description including:
This hotel is the worst hotel I ever been!
The service is Awful! And there is no any security of this hotel!

My friends and I just check out from this hotel yesterday (5th May), we stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. At the 4 th day, my friend found his cell Phone and his new Sony PSP Console gone when we got back to hotel.

He couldn't use his cell phone in Hong Kong, so he put it into his bag and leaves it under the bed, same as his new PSP.

When we know it's gone, we call the front desk immediately, but the front desk officer said to us – you should not leave your valuable stuff in your room! So, the only thing we could do is – call the cops! When the cops arrived, they requested to check the tape of the CCT camera, but the front desk officer told us, they couldn't access it because it is control by their manager, and the manager is not be here now, we have to wait until tomorrow morning. So, we wait!

Till next day 9.00am, my friend to check with front desk again, they told my friend, the manager will only be here at 11.00am. So, we back at that time, but she is still not there! Until 4.00pm, we have to go to the police station for request help. And the police officer phoned them, the manager is back at that time and talk to the policeman also promised to him that she will show us the tape. So, we back to the hotel again, but she told us that she will hand over a copy of the tape to police station instead to show us. If we have any more questions, we shall call police station in the future instead to call them.

Our proposed was not for request the responsibility from hotel or asked them to pay for the missing items. We just would like to get some help to see if we could get the cell phone and PSP back. If not, we need to proof this lost and get the paper to claim from insurance company.

But unfortunately this hotel manager never want to help us, it's quiet shocking to us with the hotel's attitude. I've been travel around the world and I thought the safest place should be your hotel, and the most possible people could help you when you go to a foreign place which is your hotel, but the truth turns to me is wrong! At least this time!

Anyhow, my advice for all of you is – DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL! If you lost your things in your room, they will blame you "why you put your valuable things in your room"! (My God! I don't believe who will go to shopping with their laptop or suitcase?)
  • Who you are, what sort of traveler you are ( e.g. business trip, family holiday, budget traveler, luxury resort aficionado), what is your experience with staying in this class of hotel?
I am normally a business traveler, but this time it was for holiday break to Hong Kong. From the website, the Hotel Rooms looks OK, but on arrival, we were very wrong. And the room resembled a shoe box with dim lights and very limited facilities, on the website it said that it has Internet Access (Wifi) but we never found the access point despite having the access key. Overall the experience with staying in this accommodation (I will not class this as a Hotel) is very bad.

  • How did you find or select the hotel?
I found this hotel in website, selection point for me this time is forecast on the price, convenient, clean and safety reason.
  • What was arriving and checking in like?  Lots of forms?  Helpful staff?
Not a lot of format needs to fill in when we arrived, but the staff are not really looks like helpful at that time!
  • First impressions of the room.  Small?  Clean?  Stuffy?  Comfortable bed? View from the window?  Air-conditioning?
Terribly small, nearly want to leave this hotel immediately, but couldn't because they request us to pay for total stay when we check in.
  • Bathroom facilities.  Clean?  Hot water?  Amenities?
Bathroom consists of a simple shower that you need to switch on 15 minutes before taking a shower for hot water, a wash basin and a toilet. Very basic but functional.
  • Facilities of the hotel.  Pool, restaurants etc.
There's no pool and restaurants in this hotel, but the location is quiet easy to get the food there.
  • Review must include plenty of large, clear digital pictures of each part you describe in your review. e.g. reception, room, bath facilities, pool, restaurants.
I did not take the photo in this hotel, it's not worth to take any photo of this hotel!
  • Was the hotel staff helpful during your stay?  What services did you use? e.g. money change, concierge, tour desk?
Not at all, you could see my experience to got from this hotel. I did not request form money change. Front desk staff are ok, but not for helping you.
  • How did checkout go?  Was it clear and service fast, or lots of delays and errors?
The checkout process is very fast, anyhow it is because we paid all cost already when we come in, and we did not forget need to return the key and AC's removal control.
  • Your conclusion, was it good value, would you stay again or recommend it to a friend?
This hotel is not a choice for your stay, even it is cheap, but it is not secure for your safe, and I wondering our lost was involved by the hotel employee and the hotel knew this but still cover it. I checked other website after I back, I found someone had same experience with us, but it is too bad that I didn't see this before I go.
Anyhow, I will not stay in this hotel again, and certainly will not recommend it to anybody!
