Home > Sightseeing > Districts > Kowloon > Nathan Road Nathan RoadIs it a location or an attraction? Actually it is both, if you are staying in a hotel in Hong Kong then there is a good chance it will be on or near Nathan Road, yet even if you are not you may go there to see what there is to see. A long road that goes up Kowloon from near the Peninsula Hotel it is really only the southerly area which is of interest. It is sometimes called "The Golden Mile" as it is packed full of up market shops, hotels and restaurants. Well, except for the disreputable rip-off camera shops and grotty "guest houses"! I would probably rarely actually buy anything on Nathan Road despite the millions of shops though. If you want cheap Chinese style souvenirs then take the trouble to go out to Stanley Market for large range, if you want to buy electronics or watches then go to a regular shop in Mong Kok or Causeway Bay. This is one of the very few areas where you will find tourist touts selling fake Rolex watches, etc or offering to take you to tailors who can make you a "24 hour suit". Source: www.nathan-road.hk |
