Survival Guide in Chinese Restaurants in Hong Kong

How to get 'Dim Sum'?

Getting Started

Most restaurants have a reception counter except some small ones in outlying islands or small residential areas.

Restaurants with reception: If there is table available the usher will take you there. If not, you will be given a piece of paper with a number on.  They will shout/announce with a microphone or show the current ticket no. on an electronic board when it's your ticket no.'s turn.

Restaurants without reception: Get a waiter to help you to find a table or you may sit on any empty table you can find.  In very few restaurants, you may be arranged to share a table with someone else which is a bit weird by western standard.
