Tea Buffet in 'The Place' in Langham Place Hotel

On 10th Feb 2005, after we had a family gathering in my aunt's place, everybody went to the Langham Place Hotel in Mong Kok to have tea.

We went to 'The Place' on the 4th floor which is also the breakfast restaurant.  There is a la carte menu on our table but not a tea time specific menu.  It doesn't seem to have the fancy tea set for two in the Grand Hyatt Hotel or the Mandarin Hotel (lots of delicate sandwiches and cakes in a 3-level silver tray).  At first we could not decide what to order, then we found out that the tea buffet is only $110 per person including a cup of tea or coffee.  Seeing that a cup of coffee is already about $50 so it's obvious which way to go.

Tea buffet in the Langham Place includes not just sweet cakes, it has savory snacks like satays, chicken wings, various Chinese dim sums and other savory western pastries.  Salad bar is available.  Then there is the classic English tea stuff like scones with exotic home made jam like lemon and lavender jam.  Dessert counter is full of cakes and ice-cream, not to mention the two dark and white chocolate fountains!

The buffet closed down at about 5:30pm and we left at about 6.  Everybody said, "That's my dinner!"
