Kimberley Hotel Hong Kong

One of the medium sized private hotels in Hong Kong the Kimberley Hotel on Kimberley Road in TST is in a busy shopping area with lots of restaurants and facilities nearby.

Take care that you are looking at the Kimberley Hotel and not the Kimberley Inn which is just across the road and is a cheap-but-basic Hostel type of place to stay.

The Kimberley Hotel like most mid-range hotels in that the ground floor is given over to shops and the reception is up escalators on the second floor.  The entrance is nice and green with lots of plants and is a nice relaxing place coming off the busy street outside.

The décor is typical HK city hotel with lots of marble and rather dim lighting.  There is a Chinese restaurant and a comfortable bar/lounge called the "Cascade" where you can get a beer and a view across the city.

Standard rooms are extremely standard, if you have been in one city hotel you've seen them all.  Keycard to open the door, and turn on the lights, a small bathroom as and space enough for two single beds.  You won't want to touch the expensive mini-bar but the coffee cups and little electric kettle and complementary tea bags can help to keep you awake.  A small desk against the window holds a standard TV.

The bathroom is compact but holds a sink/vanity, toilet and low bathtub with plastic shower curtain.  Liquid soap dispensers in the bath though are rather ugly but at least a proper handrail will let you get up out of the low bathtub without falling over.  Again everything is marble tiling.  An electric hairdryer is fixed on the wall above the sink and is of the turns-on-when-you-pick-it-up type.

Bad sides, the district rubbish collection building is directly behind the hotel.  You can't smell it as you can't open the windows and there is no balcony, but don't go round the back of the hotel, ok?

It's address is:

28 Kimberly Road
Tsimhatsui, Kowloon
