Excelsior Hotel Hong Kong

Excelsior Hotel Hong Kong is a 4 star hotel. It is located at Causeway Bay in Hong Kong Island.  Causeway Bay is "the" place you want to go if you like shopping, shopping and shopping.  It has the extra benefit that Times Square (shopping plus serious office building) and other major commercial buildings are around so the Excelsior is popular with business travelers too.

It's address is:

281 Gloucester Road
Causeway Bay

Below are some pictures I have taken.  Click on the picture to enlarge.

Entrance:

Some people may not find the entrance to the hotel very pleasant but as I said Excelsior hotel is too conveniently located and safety is never a problem.

Entrance to Excelsior Hotel

Behind you is one of the biggest Japanese department store Sogo. Walk towards McDonald...

Entrance to Excelsior Hotel

The building marks McDonald is the World Trade Centre (office + shops + restaurants) Notice Excelsior hotel's entrance way is in the middle of the picture. Walk through there...

Outside the hotel entrance.

I won't call it a pleasant walk but it's a city hotel.  And it is very safe because there is always millions of shoppers around.

Outside environment of Excelsior hotel Hong Kong

Opposite to the hotel entrance is the side entrance to World Trade Centre where you can dine or shop.

Hotel lobby lobby of Excelsior Hotel Hong Kong

The lobby is quite spacious.  High ceiling helps a lot here.

Restaurants

There are several restaurants in the hotel but there are many more outside. Start with the ones in World Trade Centre. Go further to the Times Square where there are 4 floors of restaurants to choose from.

I go to the Excelsior's coffee shop sometimes after my shopping.

You may sit by the window to enjoy the harbour view or more commonly if you don't go for the buffet, you will be arranged to sit near the stairway which is away from the crowd that goes back and fro for their buffet food.

Lunch buffet at the coffee shop.

Italian restaurant in Excelsior hotel Hong Kong

Italian restaurant of Excelsior. Set dinner is available which is convenient for budgeted office entertainment events but it's not very big inside.

Hotel rooms Sorry! I never stay there.  If you do have some pictures of the rooms. Please send them to me and I'll post them here..

  • Causeway Bay MTR stations (underground trains) are within 5 minutes walk.

Things to do around Excelsior Hotel:

1. Shopping: All kinds of shopping are available:

  • millions boutiques around (ok! I am exaggerating.  But it's a lot)

  • computer arcade (Windsor House)

3. Central library - Hong Kong's largest library.
