I mean apart from everything?!
Food, places, easy travel, food, weather, food....
Sometimes it was pretty basic -- try getting some ordinary DIY stuff to paint a wall -- but other times it was like living like a king.
So yes, I'm sad to be The ExExpat. But that's me until I can find another contract going that way at least!

I haven't left (yet), at least no permanently. But when I'm away I miss the food... Really! Just cheap tasty food available everywhere.
And the warm weather. Beach weather for so much of the year.
I guess it depends where you leave to -- I mean if you are "going back" to Hawaii or Bermuda or something then HK may not look so good as if "back home" is somewhere in the industrial north!

I haven't left yet and I too will miss the food here. Especially egg tarts and bean curd pudding. yum.  |
