hi,

HSBC is a big bank in HK. If I got it right, it's even the world's fourth biggest bank so it should be pretty reliable. Having said that, AIG is big. Washigton Mutual is the biggest saving bank in the U.S. and now what have come to them?

Follow the traditional wisdom, "Don't put all your eggs in the same basket". Here is a few banks in HK which are included in the local stock market index "Hang Seng Index" so they are the big ones in HK: HSBC, Hang Seng Bank, Bank of East Asia and Bank of China.

Other major banks in HK includes: Standard Chartered ,Citi Bank and DBS.
