In the day time Mong Kok is actually probably safer for you, as a tourist, than the normal tourist areas. There are no touts or people trying to sell you cheap rolex watches in Mong Kok.

At night time you should be more careful though -- I mean like 10PM or later. If you are going for a dinner then when you leave be aware of yourself. It is just like any big city -- nothing specially dangerous.

I hope that helps.

Yours,
Raymond

So very crowded area but most accessible by subway (MTR).
Beware of pickpocketers as if you're in Italy or China mainland.

Pickpockets is a risk -- but I don't think anywhere in HK is as bad as Italy -- I mean big cities like Milan or Rome.

The only pickpocketing case that happened to anyone I know in HK was in Central though, outside worldwide house which doesn't seem a risk location. Sometimes it's just random I think.

Yours,
Raymond
