Hi there, thanks for this interesting web. i have a question about rents. I'll be moving to Hongkong next year as part of my job and will be living for two years there. That is if I accept this project and at the moment I'm tryikng to work out of it will be financially sensible for me. Rent is a big thing. one always years about how expensive asian cities are like tokyo and so on and i beliedve hongkong is in the same category. so what is a normal rent to pay, i will be with my wife and two school age children so will need a house with at least 3 bedrooms, reception, parking, some outside space for the kids and so on. the HQ for my company in the far east is in Causeway Bay so it wsould make sense to be close to that. I'm used to a 15-20 minute commute so would like to maintain that sort of distance.
Pleased let me know here or by email to theomw@aol.com.
Thanks.

Causeway Bay is a very crowded district and outside space for residential premises is very uncommon. However, you may opt for some new establishments that have their own private clubs for residents which includes facilities like swimming pool, tennis court and etc.
Rent in Causeway Bay is between HK$30 - HK$48/square foot/month and the typical size is about 1000 sq.ft. and the bigger it is, the higher the per square foot rate.
For example,
1,069 sq ft 3-bedroom flat - $33,000/month (eqv to USD4,200)
1,482 sq ft 3-bedroom flat - $70,000/month (eqv to USD8,900)
1,911 sq ft 4-bedroom flat - $110,000/month (eqv to USD14,100)
After all, transport in HK is very convenient, especially your office is in Causeway Bay. Other districts may equally convenient and give you more choices.
