Grand Hyatt Resort Bali

Grand Hyatt Resort Bali is located at Nusa Dua.

Swimming Pools

I think the Grand Hyatt is great for families.  We are quite difficult to please because we were spoiled by the water park in Laguna Beach Resort Phuket and Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, we are never happy with hotels with one swimming pool.  So the 6 swimming pools in Grand Hyatt provides an alternative to Phuket's connected water park.  There are at least 5 swimming pools in Grand Hyatt although one of the main pool was under construction when we were there (Apr 2003).  That's the problem with visiting a country before their peak season.  This was one week before Easter and many hotels were renovating.

The lagoon shape pool with water slide is good.  You can swim around and get some shade under the artificial rock bridge.  Next to it is a warm water Jacuzzi.  Watch out for the steps though.

The Balinese feature pool is cool too.  There is a warm water Jacuzzi at the top level.

The club pool is not as big as the lagoon pool but it's definitely not just a rectangular lap pool.  It's structure is similar to the lagoon.  It's for club guests only and is right next to the beach.

Swimming in the sea

They have buoys in the sea to outline the swimming area.  Somehow all other hotels have an extremely unreasonably small area for swimming.  Grand Hyatt on the other hand is well protected by the protruding rocks on both sides and the water level goes up to adult's waist or chest for quite a long distance.  The clear and not wavy water is particularly good for children.

Bedroom view

This is the garden / lagoon view from our bedroom.

Grand Hyatt's garden is also the best among the hotels along the same beach.  Other hotels, including Sheraton, have mostly lawn and palm trees.  Grand Hyatt has a lot more variety of flowering plants than the others.
